FACES is a vibrant group exhibition by a collective of artists from Kibera, bound together not only by their shared passion for art but also by the deep threads of friendship. This showcase brings to life a diverse tapestry of stories—ranging from intimate family portraits rendered in abstract forms, to strikingly realistic acrylic paintings that capture the everyday faces and moments of our society.
Each artwork unveils a different “face,” symbolizing the many facets of the artists’ personal narratives—stories of resilience, joy, connection, and hope. What makes this exhibition even more remarkable is the artists’ innovative use of recycled materials, giving discarded objects a new breath of life and transforming them into powerful visual statements.
The styles on display are as unique as the individuals themselves—reflecting a rich blend of creativity, cultural memory, and the warm, hearty spirit of community that continues to define and inspire Kibera’s artistic voice.
